Kenneth Hurley
Western and Wildlife artist, Kenneth J. Hurley, was born in Idaho in November 1942 and moved to rural Pacific County Washington at age seven with his 7 brothers and sisters and parents, Dennis and Luvirla Hurley. He still resides 4 miles outside of Raymond just off highway 101 on Smith Creek Road where he has his well known “BUFFALO ART STUDIO” which is full of art and museum pieces from the old West. Ken has created over 1000 paintings and won numerous awards and honors throughout his career as “The Buffalo Man”,… his nickname given to him by his many fans. Ken is a self taught western artist specializing in the American buffalo and working mainly in watercolors. Ken won the coveted Lancaster Award from the Ellensburg National Art Show in 2002, the “Producers Award” from the Spokane Western and Wildlife Show in 2006, the once in a lifetime award, “King of the Cowboys”, presented by legendary western artist, Fred Oldfield, in 2014, and “The Boyd Zepp Humanitarian Award” honoring Ken for all the art he has produced over the years for the Grays Harbor Indoor Pro Rodeo. With published books about his art, paintings, book covers, coloring books of his art, poster art and so much more, Kenneth Hurley is today an Internationally acclaimed artist recognized world wide.
